Cause

Net proceeds from this Home Town 50/50 will be used to build a Batting Cage this fall at the Living Memorial Park, located on Snow Avenue at the north end of Summerland.

A large number of renovations are planned for the baseball field to restore it for Summerland Minor Baseball Association. The baseball field was originally constructed in 1948 just after WW2. Minor baseball teams use the hardball (which is smaller than a softball) and there are significant differences between a baseball field designed for minor baseball and soft ball. Some of the improvements will be completed this fall and others are planned for Spring 2026. The Association have already raised over $74,000, but require additional funds for various items. A local family who recently lost their 16 year old son are helping to spearhead ‘The Field 96 Project’ renovation, named for his jersey number.

There are 165 boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 18 who have signed up for the 2025 spring baseball season.

Rotary Club of Summerland is pleased to assist the children in our community by helping to restore this valued facility.
